Hamish Williams is the owner and operator of Mr Fishing Adventures and a resident fishing enthusiast, who has managed to turn his passion into a thriving business. Originally from Hawkes Bay, Hamish started his career path in the hinterlands of Hastings working as a rural pert control officer for the regional council and a local Hawkes bay contractor looking after the farming community. Fast forward 20 years and Hamish took a leap, he exchanged his five-meter boat for an eight and a half meter Pinnacle boat which he christened “Next Level”.
Hamish set up his charter business to share his passion for the open seas and lakes of New Zealand and the thrill of surfcasting, fly fishing and ocean fishing. A competent seaman having spent most of his adult career dealing with the elements, Hamish is competent in any of nature’s unexpected situations, which has served him well during his new venture. It is also helpful to note that Hamish and all Mr Fishing Adventure employees hold their full skipper’s ticket and can fulfil all health and safety requirements.
It is a testament to Hamish’s passion and expertise that sees his business Mr Fishing Adventures offers a vast plethora of fishing opportunities in New Zealand. From trout fishing in Lake Taupo to surfcasting off the shores of coastal Hawkes Bay and even fly fishing up the mighty Tongariro River. Hamish is able to offer it all. The joy in his day to day life says Hamish, is being able to share his passion with friends, locals and visitors to New Zealand.
Having caught numerous trophy trout, a huge number of 20lb plus snapper and being involved with many Marlin catches throughout the South Pacific, The name ‘Mr Fishing’ was born, and it stuck, making it the perfect title for the venture created by his passion.
